Chinese New Year Workshops – January and February 2018

Many thanks to both Elliot and yourself for coming down today and enthusing our pupils. They thoroughly enjoyed the lessons and certainly picked up the language element quicker than I did.

Louise Parker, Pennthorpe School

Dragons in Europe have been running Chinese New Year workshops since 2008; to date we have run over 2000 hours in over 600 schools.

The workshops, which are prepared bespoke for nursery, primary and (early) secondary schools, are a wonderful opportunity for young students to:
  • learn about where China is and what their Chinese New Year traditions are
  • learn basic greetings, saying ‘Happy Chinese New Year’ in Chinese
  • receive traditional gifts exchanged at New Year
  • learn about the legends behind the New Year traditions i.e. the zodiac story; why launch fireworks?

Please see our full scheme of work here.

The workshops take place either in the classroom or a school hall, and are run by one of our engaging, charismatic and experienced teachers. Each teacher that we provide to a school is legally allowed to teach in the UK, they are DBS checked and all references have been contacted and verified by Dragons in Europe.

Given that Chinese New Year falls over a 2 week period in February, we can be flexible in terms of dates. The workshops, which last 1 hour each, cost £80+vat each, inclusive of all teaching, Chinese New Year gifts and transport. The maximum number of students per workshop is 35. Our minimum booking is 2 workshops per school visit.

We are now taking bookings for January/February 2018!
